The Cyprus Ministry of Labour announced the plans for the December period after the recent peak in coronavirus cases, promising to further support companies and employees during 2021. The plans mainly aim to support the Tourism Industry, businesses, employees, and the related/associated companies that are affected by the sharp decline of tourist arrivals, and the new restrictions in movement and business operations. The plans concern the period from December the 1st until December 31st, 2020.
The last date for applications for participation in the December Special Plans is January the 8th, 2021.
The seven specific plans for December are targeting and funding the following sections:
- A Special Plan for Hotel Units and Tourist Accommodations
- A Special Plan for companies with Economic Activities related to the Tourism Industry or Economic Activities that are directly affected by Tourism or travel agencies that are connected with companies with complete suspension of operations
- A Special Plan for Businesses of Certain Economic Activities
- A Special Plan for Businesses for companies with complete suspension of operations that under the new restrictions have a decrease in their turnover of above 80%
- A Special Unemployment Support Plan
- A Special Plan for Certain Categories of self-employed Employees
- Special plan for Work Absence Allowance
